Dear ABGTS Family and Friends
Re: Christ And Community In The Fourth Gospel: Pastoral Symbols As Symbolic Relationship
Greetings in the Name of the Lord. A very Happy New Year to all of you. In 2nd Kings 7:9 we read,
They said to each other, “This isn’t right. Today is a day to celebrate, and we haven’t told anyone else what has happened"...
Nothing cheers the soul than to hear good news to usher in the New Year 2010 - the year of the Tiger according to Chinese Almanac.
I happy to announce that a 2nd ABGTS monograph is with the printers right now and will be ready for distribution before the end of this month. It is the doctoral dissertation of the late Dr Lilian Lim entitled “Christ And community In The Fourth Gospel: Pastoral Symbols As Symbolic Relationship” from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (USA) under the supervision of Dr Gerald Borchert.
Dr Gerald Borchert, a renowned New Testament scholar has written a foreword for the monograph. In his conclusion, he writes:
Finally, dear reader, when you read this work, you will be engaging the ideas of a writer (Dr. Lim) who understood well what the Johannine evangelist was seeking to convey through the magnificent stories and dialogs concerning Jesus. She will help to clarify for you the pastoral concerns which are inherent in this Gospel. May God bless you in the reading of this work and may the Gospel of John become a more vibrant vehicle of challenge in your life because of encountering the thoughts of Dr. Lilian Lim in this book.
Wishing all of you a Happy, Wonderful and Prosperous New Year.
May this year, be the year where the Lord surprises you with his Greatness, Goodness and Graciousness!
Cheers
